The Boathouse is one of Shrewsbury's most loved historic pubs. It's stunning location on the banks of the River Severn offer magnificent views of the river and the Quarry park.
Renowned for its sun drenched terrace and extensive beer garden, The Boathouse is the perfect place to watch the boats and ducks go by. In the winter the log fire is always lit and hearty grills, roasts and delicious desserts and puddings are served in the oak beamed interiors.
The Boathouse specialises in excellent local daily fresh produce cooked really well, mostly grills, focusing on top quality beef from a serious attitude to provenance.
Steaks are seared on charcoal grills and the beef burgers are sensational. Grilled fish and sunday roasts are also the local favourites and chef Lee Maddox's passion for deserts is the boathouse's huge gain, the banana fritters are totally irresistible not to mention his chocolate brownies and ice cream !

The Boathouse is in Shrewsbury town centre, located on the river Severn beside the Porthill suspension bridge. To reach it by car, make your way over the Welsh Bridge to the Frankwell roundabout and take the turn to New Street A488 - The Boathouse is 500yards on the left handside. Arriving by train it is 5min walk from the train station - walk along Smithfield Road to the Welsh Bridge and keep going straight along Victoria Avenue, cross the Porthill footbridge and you are there!
