Introducing: The Best of British

28th February 2012

Hadley Park House Hotel, in Shropshire, will continue to celebrate a memorable year for Britain, with the first of its “Best of British” special events, in April.

A tribute to all that is great-and-good about British food, the first ever Best of British event at Hadley Park House Hotel will feature the cooking skills of head chef Mark Harris, and some of the finest locally sourced ingredients.

Menus will be given a Best of British theme, and Food Hero Martyn Rowley from Shropshire’s Buttercross Farm will be the “flavour of the month” as pork is given a special billing throughout the month of April.

A Meat Medley Menu, featuring some of the finest pork products in Britain, meanwhile, will be on offer to guests on the evening of Friday, April 20th.

Hadley Park House Hotel hit the headlines last year when head chef, Mark Harris cooked for both the Prime Minister and his Cabinet, as well as the full Shadow Cabinet during the party conference season.

“Our Best of British events in 2012 will help to highlight some of the best, and most traditional flavours, in our local larder,” he explains.  “The spotlight will be on British pork from Buttercross Farm in April; and it’ll be the turn of some great cheeses in September to tie-in with British Food Fortnight, and then game in November.”

Mark Harris is a classically trained British chef who believes in making the most of the local produce which is now readily available within a small radius of Hadley Park House Hotel.

He adds: “The pork we use in our kitchens, for example, is phenomenal.  April will be dedicated to giving our diners the chance to join with us in celebrating what we firmly believe is the Best of British pork!”

Hadley Park House Hotel has already kicked-off 2012 by offering Sunday lunches at £20.12 per person, and given guests the chance to book a room for just £20.12 per person (based on two people sharing; while paying for breakfast and dinner separately.

“We know what a great year it’s going to be for Britain,” says owner Mr Mark Lewis.  “And we’ve got all sorts of ways planned to celebrate it here throughout 2012.”
